Historic Preservation Services

Hudson Highlands Environmental Consulting can prepare Hudson Highlands Environmentalcultural resource surveys in accordance with the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.  Phase 1 surveys are often required to gauge impact assessments for highway/rail expansions, commercial developments, housing projects, transmission lines and similar projects.  If mitigation is required in phase 3, Hudson Highlands Environmental Consulting can provide archival photographic, and illustrative (measured drawings), and written documentation of historic houses, bridges, industrial sites, etc. Historic American Building Survey (HABS) level of documentation is used as guidelines.

Hudson Highlands Environmental Consulting can assist with the assessment and rehabilitation of historic wood and masonry structures. A study begins with a comprehensive inspection and written report known as an existing conditions survey that indicates the extent, location and cause of all deterioration, and concludes with recommendations and repair options.
