PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Carla Cielo has managed her own consulting business for the past 13 years. Her work includes the design of sympathetic additions to historic farmhouses, reuse design & renovations, architectural conservation & inspections, masonry & ruin stabilization, historic research /documentation, interpretation and investigation, condition assessments, historic structures reports, measured drawings, national register nominations, architectural photography, architectural specifications, project management and construction supervision.

Carla Cielo is also noted in the field of architectural documentation. After being trained by Historic American Building Survey (HABS) in 1990, she has documented barns, houses and outbuildings in four states and has conducted several township wide documentation studies.

  • Irene Vateckas Residence (1860) Stony Point, New York. Prepared National Register nomination for this Gothic home (the William H. Rose House).
  • Deans Rhode Hall Barn (c. 1830) South Brunswick, New Jersey. Documented and worked on the dismantling of this early nineteenth century barn. Adaptive reuse design plans.
